William Dewaine Jones Jr., a loving and devoted family man, passed away on November 20, 2024 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 51, surrounded by the comfort of his family and friends. Born February 24, 1973, s mother, Linda Joyce Jones, and father, William D. Jones Sr., both residents of Houston,Texas. William's life was characterized by his passion for service, his love for family, and his zest for life.
William began his career in transportation, driving for Brinks Armored Company and Kroger for a decade. His dedication to public service led him to pursue a career in law enforcement. He graduated from the University of Houston Downtown Police Academy and was hired by Precinct 6. His career saw him serve in various capacities, including Aldine PD, Precincts 1 and 3 Constable, HISD PD, Arcola PD, South Houston PD, Baytown PD, and ultimately retiring from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Department. His proudest accomplishments included graduating from the Police Academy and being a father.
As a graduate of North Shore High School, Class of 1992, William maintained strong connections with his community throughout his life. He was not only known for his career but also for his vibrant personality. A great dancer and the life of the party, his love for riding motorcycles and his involvement with his motorcycle club were often shared with his many friends.
William is survived by his children, Dyshelle Jones (Monkiie), William Jones III (Jr.), Jaslynn Tunner (Jas), and Jaevion Jones (JV), who will carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his his siblings: Derrick Jones, Tiffany Brignac (Byron Brignac), Davion Richards, and Angel Richards. William’s grandchildren, Isaiah Jones (Papa Boy), Rylei Jones, Love Turner (Papa Girl), and Paityn Jones, will cherish the memories of their grandfather.
William was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Jones, his father, William D. Jones Sr., his sibling Kesha Jones, and his grandparents, Charles D. Limbrick and Gertrude Barrett Limbrick. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will remember him fondly and honor his memory.
William Dewaine Jones Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and vibrant living that will be cherished by all who knew him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends.
